Dictionary
This dictionary explains what I mean by the terms I use, not what those terms actually mean. This isn’t a traditional dictionary. The purpose of this page is to make sure we understand each other when we discuss a specific topic. They are not meant to be taken as the Truth.
Reality:
What we perceive from our five senses and our thoughts.
The World:
The Truth behind Reality. What is as opposed to what we perceive.
Consciousness:
The core of what we are. One of the three essential principles of Hinduism: Sat, Chit, Ananda or Existence, Consciousness, Bliss. Our consciousness is what allows us to perceive our Reality.
Concentration:
The act of focusing on one single point be it a thought, a sensation, a part of our body…
Insight:
The study of sensations.
The six sense-doors:
They are the doors through which we perceive reality: five senses (sight, hearing, smell, taste, touch) and thoughts.
